Monica is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Salt Lake City, Utah, and is passionate about advocating for mental health resources in both individual and community contexts. Her extensive experience spans various settings such as inpatient/outpatient mental health treatment, community mental health, homeless services, criminal justice, sexual assault, domestic violence, and inpatient and outpatient mental health treatment. Much of her clinical work has centered around providing compassionate care, support, and resources to folks who are in crisis. Monica currently has a private practice specializing in working with adults with trauma-related disorders, dissociation disorders, anxiety, and depression.
Growing up and working in Utah has cultivated Monica's understanding of Salt Lake City's diverse communities. She has collaborated with nonprofits across SLC and has tailored programs to address specific community needs. Drawing from her personal and witnessed experiences, she believes in the transformative power of community engagement.
Monica holds an administrative leadership role in implementing S.T.A.Y.'s mission to destigmatize mental health issues and address suicide prevention. By working with S.T.A.Y., she contributes to creating professional and empirically supported programs, facilitates individual and group experiences, and effectively advocates for the importance of mental health wellness and suicide prevention awareness.
